Julia has loved Herman for ten years. She has devoted herself to their relationship completely. She moved from place to place in order to keep it a secret. You see, Julia is black and Herman is white and they live in 1918 South Carolina. They dream of moving up north to start a new life together free of compromise but after a decade the dream has become stale. Something, or someone, has always stopped them from going. This time, Julia will see her dream come true or wake up from an illusion.
