Julia has loved Herman for ten years. Whenever someone found out about them she has moved immediately to keep their relationship a secret. You see it’s 1918. Julia is black, Herman is white and they live in South Carolina. They dream of someday moving up north to start a new life together free of compromise but after a decade the dream has become stale. Something, or someone, has always stopped them from going. This time, Julia will see her dream come true or wake up from an illusion.
